Situated half-way up a hill, the Villa La Vigna offers stunning views over the plain and the sea below, with olive groves and vineyards dotting the landscape as far a the eye can see. Just 3kms away is the stunning village of Castiglione della Pescaia, dating from the Xth century, where the old part of the town, with its narrow streets leading to the chateau, has been preserved. The lower part of the town has been pedestrianised and leads down to the boat (and fishing) harbour where the town ends.

From there, a long 2 km-walk along the seafront takes you past shops and fish restaurants. As you leave the town, there are also several beautiful beaches to enjoy, bordered only by the sea to one side and pine trees to the other.

The house itself enjoys a privileged calm, surrounded by rich greenery that allows guests to enjoy all the advantages of being near the sea, without the inconveniences. Comfort is the watchword here, as much inside the house as outside. The decoration has received particular attention, with colours chosen in pastels and light shades to suit contemporary tastes.

Although the house constitutes a single unit, it can also be divided into two parts (as it has two kitchens and two drawing rooms). This means that the house can be rented by small groups or two families, who might know each other well but who also want to have time apart. All the bedrooms in the house have their own bathrooms.

There is no lack of space outside either, whether it is for eating or relaxation. The magnificent salt-water swimming pool is situated slightly below the house, giving guests the impression of diving into the landscape.

Villa La Vigna is one of our favourite houses for 2013. Please note that the house is available for rent for two-week periods only.
